Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" is a groundbreaking film and a stunning cinematic achievement about all of the little moments that add up to create a life. It explores life, love, loss, family, adolescence and aging in subtle but wise ways. Shot over 12 years during which the its central protagonist ages from 6 to 18, it is unlike anything I have ever seen in a non-documentary feature. What results is one of the best films not just of the year, but ever. | |
